The absence and silence of women in arenas of public life seems to perpetuate the status of the feminine subject (in other words, women being subjected to men in hierarchies of power). It is this contested space that is now the center of discussion throughout the political science. It has been an arduous task, taking into consideration the in numerous obstacles faced by women who find themselves in arenas exclusively designated for the masculine public. This has become a recurrent theme in academic debates and will be examined in this paper by considering references in feminist works which focus on the inequalities experienced by women in terms of political participation, the question of representation and the discussion referring to the formal mechanisms that promote equality in this sphere, such as affirmative actions and transformative remedies, trying to understand the main question: feminism is really transforming the political science with its discussions?
